First Haircuts

Bradlee and Brock both had their first haircuts today. My good friend Heather Cuppy cut their hair for us at her salon. Bradlee wasn't about to even go inside the salon until she saw Heather, and then she ran right in! She wouldn't wear a cape or sit in a booster seat by herself, so I had to hold her and wear the cape myself. I thought Bradlee did really well though. She was pretty serious about the whole thing, but she sat still. When she was done, Heather gave her a sucker. She was all smiles after that! She really liked holding that comb. Eventually she started combing her hair all sorts of ways just to be helpful. I am sure Heather really appreciated that!

Tyler showed up because he needed a haircut too, so he held Brock for his haircut. Brock did so good! He didn't cry or wiggle once. Everyone in the salon walked by to watch him because he was so cute and was being so good.

Look how cute my boys are!

He had a bald spot on the back of his head, resulting in a rockin' mullet beneath it! We decided it would be best to buzz his whole head. He looks a little funny being all bald now, but it should grow out pretty nicely!

Friday Night with Kate and Hunter

Friday night Kate, Hunter and Keelia drove all the way up from the Denver area to hang out with us. It was so much fun. We definitely don't see them enough for how close (I am using the term "close" pretty loosely) we live to each other. We had enchiladas for dinner, and we made s'mores over the charcoal grill for dessert. We plan to go down to see them again as soon as possible. If they will have us, that is.

Bradlee's Birthday

Wednesday was Bradlee's second birthday! I tried to think of something special to make her for her birthday dinner, but in the end it was decided that she would be the most excited to have POP!!! So...we took her to Wendy's and let her eat junk food. We even let her stand on her seat in public! We got a lot of dirty looks from people who clearly thought we were the worst parents ever. We came home and tried to light the candle on her cake, so we could sing happy birthday to her, but she was terrified of the flame. We had to remove the cake from the room just to calm her down. We moved on to opening presents which was super fun because it was the first time she has really understood how exciting that is! Finally we were able to have cake (sans the candle). To top the night off, she gave us a fashion show of some of her new birthday clothes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOOGERS!!!

Potty Training

Bradlee went potty on the big girl toilet for the first time today!!! When she woke up from her nap I just decided to set her on the toilet to see what would happen, and sure enough, she went no. 1! After dinner, I decided we should try again, and she went no. 2! All this just one day before her second birthday. We are so proud of her!
I have no idea what I am doing or how this whole potty training thing works, but I guess I need to figure it out fast. Any advice?
Mom just emailed this picture to me. I had to post it because it is so funny and so...attractive! Everyone says she gets her dirty looks from my side of the family? I'm not seein' it.

First Laugh

Little Buddy laughed out loud for the first time this morning. Tyler was dressing him for church and tickling his neck. Apparently it was pretty funny. Hopefully we will be able to get him to do it again so we can record it.

Brock Update

Brock LOVES his daddy! If Tyler even gets near Brock, his face breaks into the hugest smile, and he starts making all kinds of cute noises.

Bradlee Update

So, I was walking down the hall passed Bradlee's bedroom today, and this is how I found her!

The girl is a regular mountain goat. I watched her get down, to make sure she didn't fall, and the way she navigates that kitchen set is pretty amazing.

Brock's Blessing Day

Brock's baby blessing was this Sunday in church. We were so glad to have our families here to share the special day with us. The blessing was beautiful. I love being married to a worthy priesthood holder. There were a few things in particular that really stood out to me. He was blessed to be a gentleman, and to view women and children as valuable souls and not as the world views them. He was also blessed to have a good relationship with Bradlee and that they will grow to be close friends. I also loved that he was blessed to be a good example to those around him and to show them the happiness that comes from living the gospel. We were lucky to have both of our dads, Jamie, Collin and Cory there to stand in. Tyler also asked Jack Cuppy and Jed Bangerter to stand in as well.

What a Party!

We had the Briccos and McLachlan's in town this weekend for Brock's blessing. We had a lot of fun. On Friday night, when Mom and Dad got here, we went to Texas Roadhouse with Jamie and Amy. Saturday night we had a big BBQ at a park with all of the McLachlans and all of the Briccos that were here (we really missed Rowdy, Diane, Molly and Craig). Sunday we went to church for Brock's blessing. Monday night, after Tyler got off work, we drove down to Denver and went to the Rockies game. I am super tired now, but it was a really fun weekend. Lots of pictures...sorry!

FYI...The Rockies lost.

Brock and Jetrin are only three months apart. They are going to be good buddies.

Well, at least Dad looks good in this picture! As for me..."Lay off me; I'm starving!"

Here's the McLachlans lookin' super fly!

Those are some good lookin' kids. Bradlee loves Jaiden and Thaiya so much.

As is typical, we had some trouble with the BBQ.

Here's a couple of hotties!

Jamie took turns letting all the kids hang on the rim. Bradlee wouldn't let go.

Mom, Jamie, and I played some basketball. Mom is still a hacker! I've got bruises to prove it, and she was supposed to be on my team.
